|PWPW wins a gold medal at the International Exhibition of Innovation, Research and New Technologies BRUSSELS INNOVA 2016
On 19 November 2016, the company Polish Securities Printing Works was awarded the Prize of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Development and Finance, Mr. Mateusz Morawiecki. The award is a gold medal with distinction of the International Exhibition of Innovation, Research and New Technologies BRUSSELS INNOVA 2016, for the technological solution that enhances the security of OVLaserImage identification documents.
The International Exhibition of Innovation, Research and New Technologies in Brussels is one of the most important European events devoted to technical progress. All of the solutions presented at the exhibition are subjected to a detailed assessment by over ninety experts who, after in-depth project analyzes, select technology leaders in respective fields.
The gold medal with distinction, which was awarded to the Polish Securities Printing Works constitutes a major achievement in the field of development and digitization of the market of securing identification documents. This is a guarantee of security for the development of the Polish digital services whose most important element will be the electronic identity card (E-IDENTITY CARD). The introduction of this solution will revolutionize the Polish digital services market as early as 2019.
E-IDENTITY CARD will guarantee the highest level of data security and will (in contrast to smartphone or tablet mobile solutions) make it possible for every citizen to perform any digital service operation without undertaking unnecessary risks.
E-IDENTITY CARD is a radical change for the consumer world and will help to facilitate and speed up communication between the Citizen and the State and its agencies. Administrative procedures will be much easier, enjoyable and less time-consuming.
Description of the award winning solution:
OVLaserImage is a solution increasing the security of identification documents. It is based on the ability to personalize the layers of optically variable ink commonly used in the production of identification documents. By applying laser radiation of appropriate characteristics and strength to the optically variable system, the third gray-metallic shade is introduced which may take the form of alphanumeric characters, lines, geometric figures or images in the form of a bitmap. In the case of personalized signage, which is a duplicate of the document holder’s data, we have to do with the highest level of protection in the form of a personalized optically variable layer.
The use of OVLaserImage in identification documents will facilitate verification of their authenticity and will hinder the attempts counterfeit or falsify the documents, thus increasing the safety of citizens and limiting financial losses caused by forgery.
