Polish tachograph for Armenia
 (08-02-2011)

PWPW (Polish Security Printing Works) has commenced performance of a contract for designing and implementing a digital tachograph system for the Republic of Armenia. The company will also manufacture and personalise tachograph cards. The system itself as well as the production and personalisation processes will be situated in Poland.

PWPW has been selected by the Public Procurement Agency of the Republic of Armenia. The contract concluded in December 2010 encompasses designing and implementation of the tachograph cards issuing system, connection to the TACHONET system, system maintenance as well as production and personalization of 4 types of tachograph cards (driver, company, workshop and control cards).

The digital tachograph system as well as the production and personalisation processes will be situated in Poland. The data on applicants will be transferred from Armenia to PWPW. It is in Poland that the cards will be produced and personalised. From here the cards will be send to the Ministry of Transport of Armenia, which will further distribute them to end recipients.

In Poland the digital tachograph system was launched on 1st May 2006, in accordance with EU directives and regulations. It was developed by PWPW S.A. in record time of only 7 months, thanks to which Poland is among leaders as regards a full-scale implementation of the digital tachograph system, i.e. encompassing not only cards issuance process, but also connection to the TACHONET system. Pursuant to the relevant legal act, PWPW
is the entity responsible for comprehensive maintenance of the digital tachograph system in Poland.
