PWPW: 50 million vehicle registration certificates
 (04-03-2016)

On 3 March 2016, less than twelve years after introducing a new registration certificate, PWPW produced the fifty millionth copy of the registration certificate. The document will soon be issued to the owner of a Ford Focus from Lublin.

The Polish vehicle registration certificate produced in the Polish Security Printing Works is a modern document that is perfectly secured against counterfeiting. The whole production process takes place within PWPW.  The certificate is manufactured with the use of special secured paper which makes it impossible to alter the data in the document. Numerous security features include intaglio print with latent image, microtext, watermarks and rainbow print. The certificate is also secured with fibers glowing in UV rays and with special imprint visible in UV light.

In its current form, the certificate was first issued on 1 October 2004. On that day not only the form of the document but also the whole document personalization and issuance process were changed. The new certificate replaced the old document which was personalized by clerks of county administrative bodies. Since October 2004, the whole process, i.e. from the moment of accepting the order to the moment of sending a ready-to-use personalized document, is carried out by PWPW. In that way, the risk of stealing blank registration certificates has been fully eliminated.

In order to help vehicle owners to get information about the stage of production of their certificates, PWPW has launched www.info-car.pl, a website dedicated to drivers.
